A free community forum focusing on anti-violence and anti-bullying efforts is planned for Friday, July 13 at the Haverhill Public Library.

Held from 1-4:30 p.m., the event is organized by city resident Mirca Rivera Mejias, who tells WHAV she hopes the forum will bring neighbors together to tackle tough questions.

“We hope to empower our community. It’s important to encourage residents to come out of their comfort zones and engage with one another,” she told WHAV.

Friday afternoon’s session begins with a 1 p.m. presentation on bullying and cyber-bullying in the lower level conference room, followed by a community Q&A and open mic show upstairs in the library auditorium.

The afternoon is open to all with no advance registration required.
