David M. Picanso, 69, Worked in Sales

David M. Picanso, 69, formerly of Haverhill, husband of Candace J. (Jenkins) Picanso passed away July 7 at Steward Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, surrounded by his family.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Silva) Picanso. Raised and educated in Lowell, he was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1966. He obtained his associates degree from Northern Essex Community College and was a member of the Alumni Association for a number of years. Picanso was employed in sales and worked for Verizon, TV Facts Magazine, and New York Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the St. James Holy Name Society and president of the Parents Athletic League (formerly the Police Athletic League), for more than 25 years, including many years as an umpire for the league.

He and his wife moved from Haverhill to Summerfield, Fla., in 2015 and summered in Derry, N.H., at Hidden Valley Campground. Picanso loved watching sports, especially the Bruins, the N.Y. Giants, and the N.Y. Yankees, which is something he shared with his dad.

In addition to his wife Candace of 47 years, Picanso is survived by his children, Amanda Breitmaier and her husband Jay of Somersworth, N.H., and Jaime Picanso of Haverhill; brothers Richard Picanso and Deon of Potomac Falls, Va.; four grandchildren, Steven, Shauna, Cody and Carissa; niece Ellen Hansen and her husband Brian of Virginia and nephew Jeffrey Picanso of California; and great nephews Aaron and Evan.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, July 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
