School may be out in Haverhill for the summer, but local committeeman Richard Rosa is praising Sen. Barbara L’Italien’s commitment to education regardless of the season.

Officially endorsing the Andover-based legislator in her bid to succeed Niki Tsongas, School Committeeman Rosa said he’d be proud to have L’Italien advocate for the 3rd district.

“Barbara’s rare combination of heart, integrity and experience are what we need now more than ever in our next representative,” said Rosa, a local attorney and real estate broker who just finished his first term on Haverhill’s School Committee.

L’Italien is thrilled to have Rosa in her corner.

“Support for our campaign from public education leaders across this district and the commonwealth is only continuing to grow, and I’m humbled,” she said. “Rich has been dedicated and helpful. I’m glad to have him on board.”

Rosa’s endorsement follows that of longtime Haverhill City Councilor Mary Ellen Daly O’Brien, who threw her support behind L’Italien in May.

The congressional primary election takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
