Andover Town Manager Andrew P. Flanagan is praising the efforts of Director of Veteran Services Alicia Marie Reddin, who was recently honored as the top veteran service officer in Massachusetts.

Recognized by the Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers Association, Reddin is a Navy veteran who has worked for the Town of Andover since March. She previously served as a veterans service officer in Melrose, Saugus and Wakefield.

“Alicia is truly dedicated to ensuring that veterans in our community are connected with the resources they have earned,” said Flanagan. “I’m enormously proud of the work she’s done, both for veterans in our community and for those throughout the commonwealth. She is extremely deserving of this honor.”

Acting as the Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers Association secretary and treasurer since 2016, Reddin helped the organization grow from operating with a $2,000 deficit to earning a $1,500 operating profit in her first year on the job. The organization reinvests that money into outreach programs across the state.

Reddin was celebrated for her achievements at an awards dinner on June 19.
