Haverhill is ready to kick off their Fourth of July festivities with fireworks Tuesday at Lincoln Avenue’s Trinity Stadium, and ahead of the celebration, police are warning residents to leave the lightshow to officials.

“Despite fireworks being legal to sell just across the state line in New Hampshire, fireworks are illegal to possess in Massachusetts,” the police posted on social media. “Please leave the fireworks displays to the professionals.”

In the past four days, Haverhill police responded to 12 complaint calls related to fireworks across the city, according to incident logs.
