A Malden man was arrested by Haverhill Police Thursday in a bust that seized 140 grams of suspected fentanyl and $2,265 in cash, authorities said.

Officer Jordan Bergevine took 39-year-old Christopher Chaisson into custody at the Residences at Little River apartment complex just before 5:30 p.m., charging him with fentanyl trafficking.

Bergevine initially responded to Primrose Way for a report of a suspicious vehicle loitering in the area. Once on the scene, he made contact with Chaisson and was led to believe the suspect was involved in a drug transaction, police said.

Elsewhere in the city, Haverhill officers made the drug-related arrests of Robert Augustonovich for possession of a class E narcotic, and George Hartney for operating under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
