Brian Theirrien, the longtime executive director of the Greater Haverhill Boys & Girls Club, is moving on. After 12 years in the city, Theirrien is transferring to the Boys & Girls Club in Lynn to oversee operations following the retirement of 20-year Executive Director Obie Barker.

Theirrien’s last day at the Emerson Street location is June 30 and he’ll begin in Lynn on July 2, he told WHAV.

Throughout the summer, the exec will assist colleagues in a consultant capacity as they identify and onboard his replacement.

As he relocates to the North Shore, Theirrien tells WHAV he’ll miss the relationships he’s fostered with local children, families and donors.

In the meantime, he’s confident Haverhill Club members are in good hands. “The kids will be well looked after,” he told WHAV.
