Rep. Diana DiZoglio gathered several Haverhill-based career women this week to encourage Haverhill High juniors to dream big during the school’s first-ever Young Women Career Day.
DiZoglio emceed the two-hour session for students, which included breakout sessions with local leaders including Haverhill Police Sgt. Andrea Fogarty, Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce membership manager Hillary Rogers and Pentucket Bank VP Leanne Petrou.
“I was honored to be among so many amazing young women for Career Day at Haverhill High,” DiZoglio told WHAV in a statement. “Growing up, I did not have many opportunities to become acquainted with different career paths. I launched Young Women Career Day as a way to empower local young women, expose them to new career possibilities and connect them with women making a real difference in the community.”
Panelist Ivette Korecki, a TD Bank vice president, found immense value in sharing her story. “Two of the juniors stood behind and said to me that they felt inspired,” said Korecki. “I said high school is temporary, keep focused. Remember there is only one of you and we need you to inspire and change the world.”
Others who participated in the career day were Kate Cook, Emily Dello Russo, Jennifer Cantwell, Melissa Cerasuolo, Judge Mary McCabe, Jessi Iwanaki, Diana Almanzar and Lindsey Goldstein.
