Kenneth L. Oickle, 91, Owned Ken’s Donuts in Haverhill

Kenneth L. Oickle passed away peacefully on May 28, 2018 at the Wingate of Haverhill. He was 91.

He was born on March 27, 1927, in Haverhill, the youngest child of Arkanus and Jude (Jodrey) Oickle.

Oickle spent most of his life in Haverhill. He served with the Army of Occupation in Europe at the end of WWII. His unit was responsible for guard duty at the Nuremberg Trials.

He and his wife raised two daughters. He owned and operated Ken’s Donuts at the corner of White and Auburn streets in Haverhill for many years. He also owned several rental properties.

Oickle greatly enjoyed the time he spent at Sarah’s Place. The staff was wonderful and he enjoyed his card playing buddies and ladies. He was quite popular with the ladies.

He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Eva (Belmont) Oickle, in 2016 and by his eldest daughter, Patricia (Oickle) Demaris, in 2011. Also predeceasing him were his brothers Charles, Reginald, and Gordon and his sisters Marjory Oickle and Ardith (Oickle) George.

He is survived by his daughter Debra Oickle and four grandchildren, Michelle (Demaris) Fleming and her husband Mark, John K. Demaris and his wife Julie, Elizabeth (Demaris) Stempien, and Jennifer (Demaris) (Moran) Camarato and her husband John all of Haverhill, 11 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild.

Also surviving Oickle are his son-in-law John W. Demaris and his wife Penny, his friends of over 50 years John Burnell and Robert Hunt and his wife Rita all of Haverhill, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
