Merrimack Valley residents served by the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center now have another option for care after the Cummings Foundation granted the medical facility $100,000 to fund their mobile clinic.
Comprised of a truck-pulled trailer with two exam rooms, the mobile clinic travels across the Valley to treat the area’s homeless population. It first hit the road in 2017.
“We are so pleased to be chosen as a 2018 Cummings Foundation 100 for $100K grant recipient. These funds will enable us to meet the healthcare needs of our region’s most vulnerable population—our homeless patients—and continue to expand our outreach using our Mobile Health Center,” CEO John Silva said.
Funds made possible through the Cummings Foundation are typically dispersed over two to five years. The Greater Lawrence Health Center shares in an estimated $10 million awarded this year.
