A week of pomp and circumstance for 2018’s Hillies! This year’s group of graduating Haverhill High seniors is one step closer to their diplomas as they celebrated Senior Week in the city.

Last Tuesday, seniors marked “sign out day” with a barbecue at the Monument Street high school. WHAV News was on hand as students mingled with friends and enjoyed lunch.

Students also picked up their brown and gold caps and gowns.

As is tradition, seniors participated in the R. Elaine Croston Poetry Contest and Senior Chapel, which featured a keynote speech by Congresswoman Niki Tsongas.

Following the Memorial Day holiday the soon-to-be graduates head to Windham, N.H. for their senior prom at the Castleton on Tuesday, May 29.

The Haverhill High School class of 2018 graduation takes place Friday, June 1 starting at 6 p.m. at Trinity Stadium.
