Sandra J. (Chase) Valenkas, 80, Retired from AT&T

Sandra J. (Chase) Valenkas, 80, passed away May 22 in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Haverhill on June 30, 1937, the daughter of the late Jessie and Jeannette (Pino) Chase.
Valenkas was educated in Haverhill in the Haverhill public schools. She was employed at the former AT&T in North Andover for many years until her retirement.

She loved animals and was particularly fond of her neighborhood cats who instinctively knew that she would never turn away in need of a meal.

She was the former wife of the late Michael Valenkas, and mother of the late Michael Valenkas, who passed in 2012. She is survived by her brothers; Clifford Chase and his wife Marsha of East Kingston, N.H., and their children Clifford and wife Danielle of Kensington, N.H., Mark and wife Susan Goodreau of East Kingston, N.H., and Andrew Chase of Waltham, William P. Chase of Bradford and his children William Chase II and wife Lynne Ann of Methuen, Attorney Bryan Chase and wife Dr. Elizabeth of Methuen and Valerie and her husband Cale Wood of Bradford, sister Helen and her husband John Jaffarian of Plaistow, N.H., and their son John, sister-in-law Gail Sargent of Haverhill and her daughter LeAnn Anderson of Haverhill, nephew Robert Chase of Pennsylvania, niece Tammi Chase-Wright of LaCanada, Calif., daughter-in-law Barbara M. Valenkas of Salem, N.H., grandchildren Samantha and her husband Aaron Clendaniel of Sanford, Maine, and Christina and her husband Ryan Hayes of Felton, Deleware, great grandchildren Victoria, Sydney and Colin Clendaniel and her companion of 40 years Eddie Menzigian of Haverhill.

Valenkas was predeceased by her brother Robert Chase, sister-in-law Laura Chase and nephew Joseph Jaffarian. She touched many lives and will be sadly missed by many great friends and extended family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lawrence General Hospital, Penacook Place and High Pointe Hospice House for their care and compassion during these difficult times. Special thanks to Gail Sargent for her daily love and care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the calling hours on Friday, May 25 from 4-7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Rte. 125). Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lithuanian Cemetery, Bradford.
