Virginia (Debitetto) Moustafa, 92, Former Food Service Worker at Haverhill High

Virginia (Debitetto) Moustafa, 92, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, surrounded by her loved ones at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley.

She was born on Dec. 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Angelo and Catherine (Azzarito) Debitetto. She was educated in Haverhill schools. She was the cherished wife of 52 years to Alfred Moustafa who passed in 2000. After marriage, the couple started their family together. After the kids were old enough, she began working at Lemar Shoe Manufacturing. The majority of her working career was with the Haverhill Public Schools, working in food service at Haverhill High School until her retirement. In addition, she was a loyal and longtime server at Pat’s Beef House and Function Facility in Haverhill working almost into her 80s. Being a hardworking woman all of her life, she volunteered for years at the Merrimack Valley Hospital as a greeter. Her family and friends were the center of her life. She enjoyed her lifelong friendship with her girlfriends, going on trips and many other activities with them. Her true joy in life was her family, raising her boys with her husband, as they got married and had children who she adored. She also enjoyed the beach and spending time in the mountains. A faithful woman, Moustafa was a member of the former St. Rita’s Church and All Saints Parish. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley in Haverhill for the extraordinary care they had given her in the recent days.

Family members include her loving sons Michael Moustafa and his late wife Ellen of Haverhill and Stephen Moustafa and his wife Lori of Merrimac, grandsons Christopher Moustafa and Nicholas Moustafa, several nieces and nephews. She was the loving sister of the late Nicholas Debitetto.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 14 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Haverhill from 4-7 p.m. Services will begin Tuesday in the funeral home at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill.
