Senior class valedictorian Dianny Lora Reyes has earned the honor of being named Greater Lawrence Technical School’s outstanding vocational technical student.

Sponsored by the state’s Association of Vocational Administrators, the annual award celebrates students for their achievements in and out of the classroom. Reyes was chosen to receive the honor by superintendent John Lavoie, who selected her from students across the Andover district.

“Dianny has been a fantastic student and member of the GLTS community, and she is extremely deserving of this honor,” Lavoie said. “She’s an excellent role model for her fellow students, both through her success in the classroom and her genuine, lasting commitment to helping those in need.”

Reyes maintains a 4.37 GPA and plans to major in biology at UMass Amherst before going on to medical school. A member of Greater Lawrence Tech’s National Honor Society, she is also active in community service, and lent her time to organizations including the Salvation Army, Elder Care and Meals on Wheels.

Reyes and other vocational-technical students from across the state, including Whittier Tech’s Briana Jackson, were lauded for their achievements at an awards dinner this spring.
