Seven new first responders are ready to serve the Haverhill community this week after a swearing-in ceremony Monday at the Bailey Boulevard police station.

Police Chief Alan R. DeNaro, Fire Chief William F. LaLiberty and Mayor James J. Fiorentini were on hand as City Clerk Linda L. Koutoulas administered the oath of office to new firefighters Jay Lemieux, Tim Nutter, Matthew Poore, Corey Pond, Andre Martinez, John McDonald, and Jeremy Fuller.

Promotions also took effect at Monday’s ceremony. The police department’s Wayne Tracy was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and Joseph Ingham was upped to sergeant. Both men have been on the force since 2004.

Haverhill Fire Department promotions were issued to Justin Borden and Jeffrey King, both elevated to the rank of lieutenant and James Hines, who was promoted to captain.
