Richardson, Mullins to Represent NECC at National Track and Field Championships

Northern Essex Community College women’s track stars Katelyn Richardson and Olivia Mullins are headed to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s track and field championships this week in Utica, N.Y.

Representing the college during the competition at Mohawk Valley Community College, Plaistow, N.H.’s Mullins and Wilmington’s Richardson are competing in the 1500 meters and high jump respectively.

Mullins, named NECC’s female athlete of the year earlier this month, competes in the preliminary heat on Friday at 3 p.m., while Richardson takes the field on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Track and field is one of eight varsity sports Northern Essex sponsors as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
