Joan M. (Adams) Bull, 82, Former Accountant

Joan M. (Adams) Bull, 82, a resident of Haverhill, passed away on May 2.

She was born in South Boston on Dec. 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Francis and Alberta (LeBonte) Adams. Bull was educated in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School. She was employed as an accountant and worked for a number of construction companies based in the Boston area.

She was a voracious reader and loved doing crossword puzzles as well as buying the occasional lottery scratch ticket. When it was time to retire, she moved to Hallandale Beach, Fla., so she could be near her grandchildren. While in Florida she remained active through volunteer work at local charities and taking care of her grandchildren. More than anything, she had a great sense of humor and a very quick wit. In her later years, she was fondly known to everyone as “Nana.”

She was the wife of the late James D. Bull who passed in 1980 and was predeceased by her siblings Francis Adams, William Adams, John Adams, Richard Adams, Claire Collins and Theresa Kennedy.

Bull is survived by her two children Patrick F. Bull of Haverhill and Gail F. Perez of Hallandale Beach, Fla., sister Alberta Cotter of Millersville, Md., four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank all those that helped Nana in recent years, including her friends at Sarah’s Place in Haverhill and a very special “Thank You” to her friend Luisa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life taking place on Wednesday, May 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Seaglass Restaurant, 4 Oceanfront North, Salisbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to Sarah’s Place, 180 Water Street, Haverhill, MA 01830. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill.
