Haverhill’s KidsFEST is relocating to downtown’s Merrimack Street for this Saturday’s free, kid-friendly afternoon of activities from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Carrying a “Candy Land” theme, the day includes live music, face painting, inflatables and costumed character meet and greets in the area of the Pentucket Bank Plaza and Rep. Brian S. Dempsey boardwalk.

“We’re so excited to bring families down to Merrimack Street,” Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Events Director Melissa Seavey said.

A scavenger hunt, Haverhill Idol performance and traditional Chinese Lion dance are planned, said Seavey.

Local artist Greg Moutafis will highlight his public art installation and murals, on display inside the Landmark Building, during a 2 p.m. ribbon cutting on the boardwalk.

In the event of rain, KidsFEST will take place on Sunday, May 6 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
