Rita L. (Seymour) Bogrett, 92, Former Waitress at Methuen’s Red Tavern

Rita L. (Seymour) Bogrett, 92, a longtime resident of the Bradford section of Haverhill, died on May 1 at Holy Family at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Terroux) Seymour, she was a member of the Haverhill High School’s class of 1944 and was employed by Western Electric Co. as a young woman. Bogrett worked for many years as a waitress at the former Red Tavern Restaurant in Methuen and was later employed in the local shoe industry.

A member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish of Haverhill, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and spending her winters for the past several years in Ft. Mohave, Ariz.

The wife of the late Carroll W. “Sam” Bogrett, who died in 1997, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen W. and Barbara Bogrett of Bradford, and David W. and Elizabeth Bogrett of Sandown, N.H., four grandchildren Richard Bogrett, Laurie Bogrett, Pamela Bogrett, and Zackery Bogrett, two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Samantha and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Joan and Emily and brothers Leon, Norman and Richard.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bogrett’s Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, May 5, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
