Nancy (Atwood) Silvestro, 57, Daycare Provider

Nancy (Atwood) Silvestro, 57, passed away at her home in Methuen on Monday, April 30, after a short, but courageous battle with pancreatic and liver cancer.

Silvestro was born in Lawrence on Oct. 27, 1960, daughter of the late John and Dorothy Atwood. She was raised in Lawrence where she attended public schools. She worked for Wang Labs until the birth of her children. Her dream was to stay home with her children, so she became a daycare provider for many years.

Silvestro was a member of the New England Bible Church in Andover. She had a passion for helping people, volunteering, traveling, dancing, singing and most of all being a mom and nana. She had the biggest and most caring heart with a smile that could light up the darkest room. Friends and family admired her for her strength, compassion, strong desire for happiness and her true love of life. She will be greatly missed by all that love her.

Her surviving family members include her loving husband John Silvestro, children Jesse and Sheri, granddaughter Tesla Rose, siblings John and his wife Ellen, Daniel, Richard, David, Timothy, Donna, Avis, Lois and husband Bert and Diane, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, and two very dear friends Pauline and Barbara. In addition to her parents, Silvestro is predeceased by her brother Stephen and her sister in-law Dawn.

Family and friends are welcomed to attend her Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 13 at the Roma Restaurant, 29 Middlesex St., Haverhill from 1- 5 p.m. Silvestro had a special request that her guests wear a little something pink in her remembrance. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill.
