Haverhill parents, it’s time to plan ahead. The school system has released the 2018-2019 calendar and students are set to report for the first day of school on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
The first week back will be a short one for students, who take a Labor Day recess from Friday, Aug. 31 through Monday, Sept. 3. The state primary happens Tuesday, Sept. 4, necessitating school closures across the district that day as well.
Kindergarten students report on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Professional development days are planned for Sept. 12, Oct. 3, Nov. 6, Jan. 30, March 20 and May 1, with early dismissal for students on those days.
Winter recess is Dec. 26-31, February break is Feb. 18-22 and April vacation is April 15-19.
The scheduled 180th day of school is Tuesday, June 11, with a five-day weather allowance putting the final day for students as June 18.
