Residents in Methuen are asked to prep for traffic detours and increased noise in the area of Route 113 known as East Street and Swan Street as highway crews carry out their latest construction project.

The Massachusetts Highway Department is resurfacing the roadway and laying new asphalt during construction, which began Sunday. Residents are advised that detours will be in place over the next two weeks.

In addition to nighttime work, crews plan to be onsite daily working on manhole and sewer covers. Police will be available to direct traffic around the construction zone during work hours.

Residents with questions are asked to contact the Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8698.
