Plaistow’s Mullins Honored as NECC’s Female Athlete of the Year

Plaistow, N.H. student athlete Olivia Mullins was recognized by Northern Essex Community College this week with the school’s female Athlete of the Year award, recognized for her success at an awards banquet.

A member of the cross-country and track and field teams, Mullins was Northern Essex’s top runner throughout the season. She will represent the college next month at the Track & Field National Championships.

Baseball ace Corey Imbriano is the male recipient of the Athlete of the Year award. A second-year member of the Knights baseball team, Wakefield’s Imbriano intends to continue his career at Division 1-ranked University of Dayton.

Monday’s banquet also recognized academic advisor Stephanie Wares (Faculty/Staff Recognition Award) and Dracut volleyball and softball player Brittany Birolini (Unsung Hero Award). Amanda Forgetta and Nolan Steevens were lauded for their commitment to academics and athletics, and were presented with Scholar Athlete awards.

Northern Essex competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, sponsoring eight varsity sports.
