Michelle M. (Crowell) Dionne, 57, Worked in Admissions at Whittier Rehab

Michelle M. (Crowell) Dionne, 57, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on April 7 in her home surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.

A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Dionne was the daughter of the late William Crowell and Irene (Tremblay) Crowell. She graduated from Haverhill High School in 1978 and worked in admissions at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital for many years. Prior to that, she worked at Wang Laboratories. She was a parishioner of Sacred Hearts Parish.

Dionne was an avid skier, enjoyed boating and loved her New England Patriots. She was also a longtime member of the Crescent Yacht Club and the first woman to be elected to serve on the executive board, which she did for several years. She loved to laugh, had a humble demeanor, and a zest for life. Above all else, she was a devoted mother, an adoring wife, a proud grandmother (Mimi), and a true friend. Dionne was a strong woman and proved this even more so as she battled her illness. She never lost her will or her perseverance. She left us with the same poise and integrity that she blessed us with.

Dionne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 20 years, Mark Dionne, her children Jennifer M. (Descheneau) Rogers and husband Eric of Plaistow, N.H., Robert H. Descheneau, III, and wife, Denise of Webster, Eric Dionne and wife Cindy of Big Bear, Calif., and Alise Dionne of Haverhill. She leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren Kyle D. Rogers, Evan D. Rogers, Cora J. Descheneau, Easton D. Moberg, Jacoby M. Dionne, Mattie E. Dionne, Sariah A. Rivera, and Jazlyn E. Gonzalez, siblings Julie McGinty, Karen Rogers, Melinda Burgos, Bonnie Crowell-Sheldon, and William Crowell and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.

Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for all the prayers, love, and support over these past, difficult months. A special thank you to Dionne’s dear friend, Bernie Carter, as well as to Ascend Hospice, especially to Cyndilou Carmichael, for the kindness, respect, and gentle care shown to Dionne and her family. Throughout her illness, she never stopped smiling, never lost her feisty sense of humor, and never gave up fighting. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 14, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Haverhill from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services celebrating her life will begin at 12 p.m. Contributions may be made in Dionne’s memory to Ascend Hospice, 100 Locke Drive, Marlborough, MA 01752 or to the American Cancer Society.
