James J. Tremblay, 76, City of Haverhill Employee

James J. Tremblay, 76, husband of Susan (Cartier) Tremblay, passed away April 4 peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington after a brief illness.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mildred (Magliani) Tremblay. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. He obtained his Associates Degree from Northern Essex Community College.

Tremblay served his country in the United States Army for 3 years, stationed in Germany, and was honorably discharged. He was employed as the Health Inspector, Recycling Department for the City of Haverhill. Tremblay loved recycling, antique auctions and spending time with his family and friends at his camp on Province Lake in New Hampshire. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tremblay is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Susan (Cartier) Tremblay; of Haverhill, a son; Jason Tremblay and his wife Laurie, of Haverhill, grandsons; Travis Tremblay, and Jack Rau, a sister; Virginia (Tremblay) Bergeron, of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Nicole Rau.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 9 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery on Mill Street.
