Mayor James J. Fiorentini has extended the hours for free tree debris and brush disposal at the Haverhill Highway Yard on Primrose Street and added a third day, in response to concerns that the city was not doing enough to help citizens deal with the excessive amount of debris left by March’s destructive weather.

Beginning Saturday, April 7, the Highway yard is accepting tree debris Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. No grass or leaves are accepted during this time.

After Saturday, May 5, the Highway Yard resumes normal hours of operation, Wednesdays from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Normal fees are $45 for an annual composting sticker permit (residents 65 and older receive a discounted rate of $30) and $9 for a day pass, regardless of age.
