Stella M. (Sierak) Allicon, Loved Plum Island

Stella M. (Sierak) Allicon, a former longtime resident of Haverhill, died April 3 at Berkeley Retirement Home and Nursing Center in Lawrence.

Born in Newburyport, daughter of the late John and Julie (Juras) Sierak, she was raised and educated in Lawrence and was employed as a stitcher for many years in the local shoe industry. Later she was employed at Easy-Way Cleaners.

Allicon’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She loved the beach, especially Plum Island, and trips to Foxwoods. Many hours were spent on the road to New York City, Virginia Beach and Florida, and a good game of poker with family was always counted on to be a fun night.

A longtime member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill, Allicon loved and lived life to the fullest.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph E. Allicon, Jr. in 1984, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Noreen Conroy of Methuen and Sheila Kallery of Haverhill, a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph E. III and Sonia Allicon, of Haverhill,  a sister Alice Lupa of Kittery, Maine, eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass to be held on Friday, April 6 at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue.

Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hilldale Ave. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. Arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway.
