Five Guys, the first of five new restaurants on the Haverhill/Plaistow, N.H., border, formally opened Wednesday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The restaurant, at 83 Plaistow Road, offers burgers, fries and shakes. It is open seven-days-a-week, from 11a.m. to 10 p.m., and employs about 35 people. Gregory Vasey, the local Five Guys franchisee, cut the ribbon along with Mayor James J. Fiorentini, other officials and members of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.
“Five Guys is thrilled to officially join the Haverhill community and provide our guests with fast, quality and efficient customer service and fresh beef patties, hand cut fries, and hand spun shakes,” he said.
Five Guys is part of the $5 million “Five Corners Shopping Center,” opposite Uno Pizzeria and next to to Haffner’s service station and car wash. As WHAV has previously reported, the complex will also eventually house Kobe Buddha House, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Aroma Joe’s and one other restaurant to be announced, according to Stephen Stapinski of Merrimack Engineering, one of the developers.
