Haverhill’s Brady T. Finney, 47, is running the Boston Marathon for a cause again this year. It’s Finney’s fifth Boston Marathon, but it will be his first year running with the Mass General Cystic Fibrosis Marathon Team, to help raise money to fight Cystic Fibrosis and support the Cystic Fibrosis program at Mass General Hospital for Children.

To reach his goal of $5000, Finney  is hosting a fundraiser today, April 5, from 7 – 10 p.m., at The Peddler’s Daughter, 45 Wingate St. Haverhill.

Admission is free, and the appetizers are, too. A live auction will include green fees and carts for four at Haverhill Country Club, The Renaissance, and Bradford Country Club, jewelry from Gold Leaf Fine Jewelry and KB Bead Designs, autographed sports items from KBK sports, gift cards for local restaurants, and much more.

Donations can be made to this cause online at because.massgeneral.org/fundraiser/1251497

This is not the only way to help raise money to fight Cystic Fibrosis locally this spring, though, a Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis will be held on Sun., May 6, starting and ending at The Lasting Room, 122 Washington St. Haverhill.

More information about that event will follow as it becomes available.
