Claire M. Wilson, 79, Bradford College Employee for 25 Years

Claire M. (Emilio) Wilson, 79, wife of the late Richard P. Wilson, passed away April 2 at High Pointe Hospice House with her loving family by her side.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Frances (Foynes) Emilio. Raised and educated in Haverhill, Claire was a graduate of St. James High School. After graduation she obtained her degree from Chandler Secretarial School for Women in Boston.

For over 25 years she was secretary and assistant to the president of Bradford College. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling at Academy Lanes, going out to lunch and hosting Christmas holidays at her home. Claire loved animals, especially her dogs. A devoted mother, grandmother and sister, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Claire is survived by her children, Richard F. Wilson of Plaistow, N.H.; Jeanne M. Woelfel of Lowell; Christine E. McKenzie of Haverhill; her sister, Romaine Shea of Haverhill; eight grandchildren, Sonali Mukerjee, Sunil Mukerjee, Michael Dill, Johanna McKenzie, Harrison Woelfel, Carney Woelfel, Michaela Woelfel and Alex Wilson.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, April 6 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Saturday from the funeral home at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Avenue, Haverhill.
