NECC Students Spend Spring Break Volunteering

Most college students spend their spring break taking a break.

This was not the case for some Northern Essex Community College students, who chose to spend their break from classes helping others as part of an Alternative Spring Break program, led by Janel D’Agata-Lynch, Northern Essex’s coordinator of civic engagement.

Alternative Spring Break events included serving dinner at Cor Unum in Lawrence and working at the Habitat Restore, also in Lawrence.

The planned Habitat Build had to be cancelled due to a surprise nor’easter, but has been rescheduled for May.

An Emmaus House dinner was also cancelled due to weather.
