Haverhill PD to ‘Light it up Blue’ for Autism Awareness

On Mon., April 2 at 6 p.m., the Haverhill Police Department will “light it up blue” with department vehicles on Bailey Blvd., in front of the police station, in support of people living with Autism.

April is Autism Awareness Month.

Last year, hundreds of thousands of homes, landmarks and businesses in 150 countries were lit with blue lights to increase awareness and acceptance of people with Autism, and again this year, Autism Speaks is urging people around the world to “light it up blue” with lights, clothing, and fundraising efforts.

In the U.S., 1 in every 68 children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The police department invites all to attend this event.
