Batter up at Buttonwoods! The Haverhill museum’s newest lecture takes residents behind the baseball diamond, providing tidbits on the sport as it was in the 19th century.

Sports historian and North Andover High history teacher Brian Sheehy’s April 3 lecture traces Haverhill’s local teams and players.

“As we enjoy the start of the Major League Baseball season, the Buttonwoods Museum is pleased to welcome the community for this look back at local baseball,” Buttonwoods curator Janice Williams said.

Sheehy’s talk takes place at 7 p.m. at 240 Water St., Haverhill.
