Peter L. Kastrinelis, 88, Pilot and Dog Lover

Peter L. Kastrinelis, 88, of North Andover and formerly of Boxford, passed away at Edgewood Retirement Community, early Tues. morning, March 27.

Peter was born on June 9, 1929 in Boston, to parents Clara and Lambros Kastrinelis. He was a 1947 graduate of Framingham High School and graduated from Duke University in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Peter married Barbara Adams, also of Framingham in 1952. Peter and Barbara moved to Boxford in 1959 and were longtime residents through 2014. Peter was a devoted father and grandfather and worked in the jet engine / aerospace industry for 30+ years with General Electric in Lynn. He was a private pilot, loved his dogs, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Peter was preceded in death by his cherished wife Barbara who passed in 2015 and his beloved granddaughter Jacqueline Kastrinelis of Groveland. Peter’s surviving family members include his three sons, Peter and wife Sheila of Centerville, Michael and wife Kathy of Groveland, and Timothy and wife Kelly of Ipswich and his seven adored grandchildren, Eric and wife Sarah, Laura, Alex, Michael, Andrew, Tim, and Kristina Kastrinelis.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 30, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill at 10:00 a.m.

Please meet directly at church. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boxford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Peter’s memory to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
