Haverhill Mayor’s Secretary to Run for State Rep. Seat

Long time Methuen resident, Lisa Yarid Ferry, has announced that she will run for state representative in the 14th Essex District, the post currently held by Diana DiZoglio, who is running for State Senate.

“I have been an active citizen in the City of Methuen for decades including being a member of the Methuen City Council for the last six years,” Ferry said, “the opportunity to represent the 14th Essex District at the State House is one of distinction and honor and one in which I will do my very best to earn the vote and support of all of the people of the district.”

Ferry is currently serving as the executive assistant to Mayor James J. Fiorentini, who said, “I believe Lisa’s education coupled with her work, civic and volunteer experience and her love for the community has prepared her to take the next step of working for the people of the 14th Essex District as their State Representative, champion and advocate.”

If elected, Ferry said that her legislative priorities will be supporting ongoing work and funding to tackle the substance abuse and opiate epidemic, education and special education support, workforce development opportunities, housing, employment and training efforts to support veterans, and supporting any efforts to assist our senior citizens and public safety personnel.

The MA 14th Essex District consists of Haverhill: Ward 7: Precinct 2; Lawrence: Ward A: Precincts 1, 3, Ward F: Precinct 1; Methuen: Precincts 3, 7, 10; North Andover: Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
