Northern Essex Knights Win 15-2 Over Rhode Island

The Northern Essex Community College Knights played a comeback game against Rhode Island Community College Monday night, winning 15-2 after being defeated by the same team Friday.

After 16 games, the NECC baseball team has a record of 7 and 9, with two recent games against RICC adding one win and one loss to the Knight’s stats.

Game 1 on Friday had a respectable 4-3 score until RICC scored nine runs in the sixth and seventh innings, finally defeating the Knights 13-3.

The Knights got their revenge at game 2 on Monday when they jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after one inning and never looked back, pounding out 14 more hits for a final score of 15-2.

The Knights will be back in action Saturday March 31 when they are scheduled to open up Region XXI Divisional play with a double header at Quinsigamond Community College. First pitch is set for noon.
