Henri J. ‘Giz’ Seymour, 92, Korean War Veteran

Henri J. “Giz” Seymour, Jr., 92, passed away March 23 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen with his loving family by his side.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Henri J. Seymour, Sr. and Lillian J. (Belanger) Seymour. Henri was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1943. He then attended Merrimac College where he received his Bachelor’s degree. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the conflict. Henri was employed for over 40 years at Western Electric. He enjoyed playing in card tournaments at Atlantic City and Foxwoods casinos. Henri also enjoyed horse racing.

Henri is survived by his brother, Joseph J. Seymour of Haverhill; stepchildren Bruce Raineri and his wife Pamela of Lawrence; Gail Keirstead of Hudson, N.H.; Brian J. Raineri, Sr. and his wife Nina of Shrewsbury; grandchildren Jeremiah Seymour of Dallas, Texas, Jesse Seymour of Madison, N.C., Simon Seymour of Madison, N.C. and step grandson Brian J. Raineri, Jr. of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons Henry J. Seymour III, Stephen A. Seymour and brother Robert R. Seymour.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 29 from 10 -11:30 a.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.

Funeral services will follow at 11:30a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barker Street, Lawrence.
