Maine Man Arrested in Haverhill For Firearms Possession

At approximately 4 a.m. Thursday, State Police Troopers, Randy Morales and Christopher Ryan, observed two stopped vehicles on Interstate 495 in Haverhill, one in the breakdown lane and one off the road, in a ditch.

A police investigation resulted in an arrest when the driver of the vehicle that went off the road, 29-year-old John Williams from Madison, Maine, was found to be in possession of a firearm, which he was not licensed to carry.

Williams was transported to the State Police Barracks and booked on the following charges: possession/carrying firearm, improper storage of firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity feeding device, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to obey marked lanes.

Bail was set at $10,000.

A passenger, identified as a 32-year-old female from Mercer, Maine, was issued a summons for possession of Percocet, a class B substance.
