Police Seek Suspect Tied to Andover Crash, Wilmington Burglary

Police in Andover and Wilmington are searching for a man they say crashed his car into a home after burglarizing an auto repair shop.

The multi-city search began Thursday morning when Wilmington Police responded to a burglar alarm tripped at 5 a.m. at Jimmy’s Garage at 945 Main St. Surveillance footage determined that a male suspect gained access to the garage by smashing into it with his white GMC pickup truck.

Later that day, Andover police responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a home on the town’s School Street. The driver fled the scene, but was later determined to be the same suspect involved in the garage break-in.

The man in question has also been named as the suspect in a service station break-in in Tewksbury, police said.

“Evidence recovered at the scene of the Andover crash led investigators to suspect all three incidents were related,” Wilmington police said in a statement.

The suspect was captured on Jimmy’s Garage surveillance footage while wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.

Anyone with any information on the suspect or the crimes is asked to call Wilmington police at 978-658-5071.
