A bold thief braved the recent snowstorm and power outage to steal a family’s backup generator, Methuen police say.
In the early morning hours of Friday, March 9, a male suspect drove past the home on Morgan Drive and circled back when he saw the generator hooked up next to the garage. Surveillance video captured the suspect, wearing sweatpants, a sweatshirt and hat, unplugging the generator, disconnecting it from the home and stealing it.
The generator is a black and orange Generac XT model.
