Robert George Henault, 91, U.S. Navy Veteran

Robert George Henault, 91, a longtime resident of Haverhil, died Monday, March 12 at the High Pointe House with family by his side. He was predeceased by his wife, Winifred G (Mullen) Henault, who passed away in 1992.

Born in Keene, N.H., on Jan. 8, 1927, he was the son of the late George and Victoria (Lavigne) Henault, and was a graduate of Keene High School.

Henault entered the military right out of high school, proudly serving with the United States Navy during World War II.

After completing his tour of duty with the Navy, he began working at Western Electric where he worked as a machine setter until his retirement.

He was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a passionate golfer and bowler and enjoyed watching all sports on TV.

He will always be remembered for his kindness to others and his willingness to help, his devotion to family and friends, his sense of humor and great personality.

Henault leaves behind his daughter, Susan Soraghan and husband Kevin of Atkinson, N.H., two granddaughters, Kathleen Ryan and husband Christopher of Plaistow, N.H. and Courtney Soraghan and fiancé Roger Sheldon of North Andover, two great-grandsons James and Connor Ryan, his brother Richard Henault and wife Barbara of Keene, N.H., his great grand-dog, Guinness, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Monday, March 19 at the Monument Square Chapel of Paul C Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main St., Haverhill, from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 185 Winter St., Haverhill, with burial at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
