NECC Student Receives National Civic Fellowship for Social Justice Efforts

Northern Essex Community College President Lane Glenn is singing the praises of New Hampshire psychology major Jonah Adamsky. Formerly of Andover, Adamsky has been named the college’s first-ever Newman Civic Fellow for his devotion to public service and social justice.

“Jonah has a passion for serving others, giving back to his community, and creating a more just society,” Glenn said of the student, who carries a 3.92 GPA and works in childcare.

“Jonah has a strong sense of justice, especially when it comes to children,” added Glenn. “He has a compelling desire to create equal opportunity for all children.”

Adamsky was recommended for the fellowship by professor Meredith Gunning. The fellowship program that recognized Adamsky provides students with training and networking strategies to help them better serve their communities.

Graduating from Northern Essex in December 2019, Adamsky intends to transfer to the University of New Hampshire to further his education.
