Jeanette M. (Murphy) Thibodeau, 88, Former Executive Secretary

Jeanette M. (Murphy) Thibodeau, 88, of Westford and a former longtime resident of Woburn died on March 10 at Emerson Hospital in Concord.

Born in Haverhill, Thibodeau was the daughter of the late Michael S. and Marion (Martel) Murphy. She graduated from Haverhill High School and worked as a secretary to the executive president for 25 years at SSS in Burlington.

Following her marriage to Ellsworth Thibodeau in 1951, the couple moved to Arlington and later were residents of Woburn from 1955 until moving to Wilmington in 2010 and finally to Westford in 2015.

A member of Haverhill’s St. James Parish and Woburn’s St. Joseph Parish, Thibodeau enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, making ornaments and cooking, especially Christmas candy which was given out to her family at Christmas. She loved to entertain in her home and to travel to Las Vegas to play the slots and enjoy the shows.

The widow of the late Ellsworth L. Thibodeau, who died on Nov. 5, 2017, she is survived by two sisters, Elaine Ouellette of Bradford and Constance Riley of Sebastian, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Michael Murphy.

Relatives and friends may attend her Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Thursday, March 15 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 12 p.m. in St. James Church, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.
