Methuen Police Seek Help to Identify Armed Market Basket Robber

Methuen authorities are appealing to the public for help to identify a male suspect who brandished a gun and demanded money from a clerk the Market Basket on Pleasant Valley Street.

On Friday around 8:30 p.m., the male suspect approached the courtesy booth clerk holding what may have been a firearm, threatening to shoot her if she did not hand over money. The cashier gave the suspect money and he immediately fled the store.

Captured on surveillance video, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male with medium to light complexion. Approximately 5-foot-4 with a thin build, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and a white cap with a sticker on the brim. He wore a black and green striped face warmer that covered most of his face.
