State Police are searching for witnesses to a two-car crash that led to a physical altercation between drivers Tuesday night in Methuen.

Troopers from the Andover barracks responded to a crash on the ramp from Route 110 to Interstate 93 northbound in Methuen shortly before 8:30 p.m. The people involved, a male driving a silver Honda Civic and a female behind the wheel of a gray Toyota Scion, pulled into the breakdown lane after the crash occurred, police said.

The male driver allegedly physically assaulted the female motorist before fleeing the scene. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

State Police were able to locate the Honda and seized it for evidence processing.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
