Robert F. Carey, 87, Korean War Veteran

Robert F. Carey, 87, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill. He was born in Boston and raised by the late Albert and Blanche MacDonald. He was the beloved husband of the late June (Gero) Carey.

Carey grew up in Saugus and attended local schools having graduated from Saugus High School. He honorably served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. Carey was employed for many years as a Pipefitter for The Portsmouth Navy Shipyard. He will be dearly missed by his loving daughters, family and friends.

Carey is survived by his daughters Linda Wilkins of Haverhill and Janet Becker and husband Philip of Newbury. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Jonathan, Christopher and Kelly Wilkins, one great-grandchild Jonathan Wilkins, Jr. and special friend Patricia Cerino. In addition to his devoted wife of 47 years, Carey was predeceased by his son-in-law Paul Wilkins.

Services are private. Arrangements are in the care of The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill.
