RMV Services Temporarily on Hold Later This Month as System Upgrade Takes Place

The state’s Registry of Motor Vehicles is urging those in need of services later this month to plan ahead. The RMV, which operates locally out of Haverhill City Hall, is upgrading their computer systems and all services, including those facilitated online, will be temporarily unavailable.

With the exception of those services related to law enforcement, all RMV transactions will be unavailable from 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 until 8 a.m. on Monday, March 26.

Haverhill’s AAA location on Kenoza Avenue, which typically provides limited RMV business, will also be unavailable during the upgrade.

Once the new computer system is in place, the Registry will be able to issue federally mandated REAL IDs, among other enhancements. It replaces a system that is more than 30 years old, according to the RMV.
