Five months after a Haverhill man was arrested in connection with a major Merrimack Valley heroin and fentanyl trafficking ring, the Attorney General’s Office has dismissed all charges against him.

Maura Healey’s office said Friday that charges against Richard Fuoco, 63, were dropped after reviewing the case and evidence. He had been charged on one count of fentanyl trafficking when Haverhill Police arrested him in October 2017.

Fuoco, of 415 Farrwood Drive, was arrested along with Cheryl Margosian, 55, whose case remains open.

Margosian was indicted by an Essex County Grand Jury in February on two counts of fentanyl trafficking and one count of conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Five others arrested in the sweep will be arraigned this week, the Attorney General’s Office said.

Nearly a kilogram of narcotics were seized by local and state law enforcement agencies after warrants were executed in Haverhill and Lawrence last fall. Authorities also executed the largest single search warrant seizure of illegal weapons under Healey’s administration.

Those arrested brought large quantities of the drugs into Lawrence, Lowell, Haverhill and Peabody.
