Rosemary B. (Jaskelevicus) Klueber, 72, of Bradford, died peacefully with her husband and family by her side at the High Point Hospice House in Haverhill on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
A lifelong resident of Haverhill, she was born on Dec. 29, 1945, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Mazalavski) Jaskelevicus.
Educated in Sacred Hearts Grammar School, she graduated from the former St. James High School, class of 1963. She earned her associate degree in Nursing from the first graduating nursing class of Northern Essex Community College in 1970, and in 1979 received her Bachelor of Science Degree in HSA from Merrimack College.
She was employed for over 36 years at the former Hale Hospital from which she retired in 2001 as a Surgical Service Nurse Manager. Klueber also served on the building committee for the new hospital and was the treasurer for the Hospital Foundation.
Upon retiring, she and her husband Bill became active volunteers in the Haverhill area. She was a member of the Northern Essex Advisory Board, a member of the Women of NECC and was the alumni liaison to the NECC Foundation. She was a nominee for the YWCA Tribute to Women in 1998 and also served on the committee for the Academy of Women. She was also a member of the Haverhill Garden Club and the XV Women’s Club. Klueber and her husband are devoted parishioners of the St. James Church where she was a longtime Eucharistic Minister and Lecturer and also served as co-chair on the church’s 150th Anniversary Committee. In 2008, she and her husband were recognized as Distinguished Citizens by the Yankee Clipper Council. She was also named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Haverhill Rotary Club.
In her spare time, Klueber enjoyed gardening, spending time in Jackson, N.H. and Prouts Neck in Scarborough, Maine.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 32 years, William J. Klueber, of Bradford and her two beloved cats Daisy and Pansy, her brother Stephen Jaskelevicus and his wife Valerie, her nephew Stephen M. and his wife Monica L., niece Valerie A. D’Urso and her husband Robert J. and great nephews and niece Stephen G. and Michael P. Jaskelevicus, Iris E. and Zachary J. D’Urso, all of whom adored her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Sunday, March 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Rte. 125), Bradford. Her Funeral will be held on Monday, March 5 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Bradford Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, Winter St., Haverhill.
