Peter Otis Davis, 56, Formerly Worked as Truck Driver

Peter Otis Davis, 56, of Haverhill, passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

Davis was born in Newburyport, son of the late Jean (Briggs) Davis.

Davis graduated from Essex Aggie, class of 1980. Early in his career, he worked for Amesbury Chair as a truck driver, and had a strong work ethic, always building upon new opportunities in his life. His most recent chapter brought him to the love of his life, his wife Xiaolang Li. They traveled together and walked the Great Wall of China. He was known for his “bear hugs” and his abundant love for his family and friends.

Davis is survived by his father, Amesbury resident, Gilbert Davis; wife Xiaoling Li; brothers, Jeffrey Davis of Barrington, N.H., Randy Davis of Ecuador, and Bradley Davis of Haverhill.; sister, Pamela Collins of North Smithfield, R.I. ; and 13 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also preceded by his sister Debra (Davis) Cook.

Services take place at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 179 Storey Ave., Newburyport, Saturday March 3, at 2 p.m. Family and close friends are invited to join his family for a gathering at South Hampton Town Hall, 3 Hilldale Ave., South Hampton, N.H.
